Full Card Review
If you spend money driving, dining out, or traveling, the Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi is one of the best cash back cards currently on the market. You can use the card anywhere that accepts Visa branded cards, not just when shopping at Costco. You can also use the card as proof of your Costco membership, which comes in handy if you’ve left your membership card at home. You receive cash back as a yearly credit card award certificate with your February billing statement. The certificate can be redeemed for cash or Costco merchandise in store.
This is a good cash-back card. The 4% back on eligible gas purchases alone would make it a terrific card, but it also has generous rewards in categories that many of us use every day. Furthermore, the Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi 3% back on eligible travel makes it competitive with some of the big name travel cards too. The 3% back on eligible dining purchases, both domestic and international, also stands out. Even cards touted as great for those who dine out a lot generally only give 2% back.
If you have any major purchases you need to finance, you get what amounts to an interest free, seven-month loan when you charge it to the Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi. Just be sure to pay the entire balance off before the seven-month introductory period ends because the regular APR is a 16.24% Variable.
The Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi provides travel protections like trip cancellation and interruption, travel accident, and rental car insurance, another reason it can be your favorite travel card. There is also 24/7 worldwide emergency assistance available. The card provides purchase protection and extended warranties, useful when you need to make big purchases for items like electronics or appliances.
You must be a member of Costco to have this card but that’s not a hardship. Costco is a great place to shop and the rewards offered by this card might just help convince you to join Costco. There is no annual fee for the card and the cheapest Costco membership is just $55 per year, well below the annual fee for most cards.
The Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi is one of the best cash rewards cards available. It gives you great rewards without the hassle of tracking revolving categories. On the minus side, it doesn’t offer zero-interest balance transfers.
