Veris Wealth Partners is a San Francisco-based financial advisor firm. The firm works primarily with individual clients, along with some charities, retirement plans and investment funds. Veris has a plethora of financial planning and investment management services available for clients to take advantage of.

As a fee-only firm, Veris earns all of its revenue purely from the advisory fees that clients pay. This differs from a fee-based firm, where advisors may earn commissions by doing things like selling insurance products or overseeing securities transactions.

In addition to its headquarters in San Francisco, Veris has offices in New York, Niwot, Colorado, and Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Veris Wealth Partners Background

Founded in 2007, Veris Wealth Partners is employee-owned by Alison Pyott, Casey Verbeck, Jane Swan, Lori Choi, Michael Lent, Nicole Davis, Patricia Farrar-Rivas, Richard Chen and Stephanie Cohn Rupp.

The Veris team has several accredited professionals, including two chartered financial analysts (CFAs), two certified financial planners (CFPs) and a financial paraplanner qualified professional (FPQP).

Veris Wealth Partners Client Types and Minimum Account Sizes

High-net-worth individuals make up the largest portion of the client base at Veris Wealth Partners, followed closely by non-high-net-worth individuals. The firm also works with charitable organizations, pension and profit-sharing plans, family offices, trusts, plus a hedge fund called the Veris Global Sustainability Fund.

To become a client at Veris Wealth Partners, the firm generally requires a minimum account size of $2 million. The firm does, however, waive this minimum at its discretion, which explains why the firm counts dozens of non-high-net-worth individuals as clients.

How Long $1mm Lasts in Retirement

SmartAsset's interactive map highlights places where $1 million will last the longest in retirement. Zoom between states and the national map to see the top spots in each region. Also, scroll over any city to learn about the cost of living in retirement for that location.

Rank City Housing Expenses Food Expenses Healthcare Expenses Utilities Expenses Transportation Expenses

Methodology We analyzed data on average expenditures for seniors, cost of living and investment returns to determine how many years of retirement a $1 million nest egg would cover in cities across America.

First, we looked at data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) on the average annual expenditures of seniors. We then applied cost of living data from the Council for Community and Economic Research to adjust those national average spending levels based on the costs of each expense category (housing, food, healthcare, utilities, transportation and other) in each city. Using this data, SmartAsset calculated the average cost of living for retirees in the largest U.S. cities.

We assumed the $1 million would grow at a real return (interest minus inflation) of 2%. Then, we divided $1 million by the sum of each of those annual numbers to determine how long $1 million would cover retirement expenses in each of the cities in our study. Cities where $1 million lasted the longest ranked the highest in the study.
